FOREST HILLS CHAMBER PLAYERS |
Tanya Dusevic Witek, Krystof Witek, and Katherine Cherbas met as students at The Juilliard School and have collaborated for over ten years, performing and recording works ranging from Bach to Zorn, Broadway tunes to Led Zeppelin. As Queens residents with the desire to bring quality and accessible performances to the underserved audiences of the outer boroughs, they recently established the Forest Hills Chamber Players. Performances by the Forest Hills Chamber Players are all free and are held in the heart of the community, at senior centers, churches, schools, and museums. The musicians are passionate about helping their listeners establish deeper connections with classical music, and often incorporate commentary and educational components into their concerts. The members of the Forest Hills Chamber Players have performed across the globe and at such local venues as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the theaters of Broadway. Their performances have been broadcast on CBC Radio in Canada, BBC3, Radio France, as well as WNPR, WNCN, and WNYC in New York, and they have been seen on the NBC, PBS, and Bravo television networks. |
